Freight Damage Policy
AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY, BEFORE SIGNING ON THE CARRIER'S FREIGHT BILL,
- Inspect shipment carefully for any sign of damage and take pictures of delivered crates.
- If there is any sign of damage, before signing on the freight bill,
A. The customer/consignee must note on the freight bill as ‘damaged’ and make a notation about the damage on the freight bill.
B. Even if there is the slightest sign of damage, open the package and inspect the shipment.
C. Take several photos of the damaged item.
- Count the pallets/packages of the shipment and note for any loss or short.
- The consignee has the right to refuse the freight if necessary.
Concealed damage, not visible at the time of delivery
- Stop unpacking and take several photos as soon as the damage is found.
- Retain all packing material as the proof that there was no sign of damage, and the damage couldn’t be noticed before opening the package.
- The customer/consignee must notify the carrier immediately the concealed damage, and it must be
within 3 business days of receipt. Note the date and the name of the person.
- Do not move the shipment from the original delivery location. Do not install the damaged equipment for prompt inspection by the freight company.
- Contact the dealer and report the concealed damage immediately, so the dealer could follow up with the manufacturer promptly.
